Lent has always been an intentional time to reflect on our relationship with God. The temptations Jesus faced are universal, they are all about how we behave, do we presume we can live without God, do we presume we can use God as a totem, do we live with competing gods in our lives? These are questions we should ask of ourselves because our answers determine how we live. One way I think we need to reflect on, turn around (repent), and to grow is in how we love the environment, God's handiwork. Harm of the environment is harm of all related relationships!
One way of marking a turning around (repentance) is a carbon fast. Join a community garden, grow vegetables to share, plant trees, join an environmental group, reduce plastic in all its forms, car share rides, etc. Here are some wonderful and creative resources for praying and taking action on all manner of things environment that are simple enough to engage no matter your age or ability. www.tear.org.au/resources www.abc.net.au/ourfocus/waronwaste/ https://prayandfastfortheclimate.org.uk aecn.anglicancommunion.org goodfish.org.au www.earthhour.org.au www.worldwaterday.org Blessings, Paul
